Alfa Romeo GTVAlfa Romeo GTV is a sports coupe with the seat arrangement 2 + 2, produced between 1995 and 2005. It was the last model of the company, the production of which was carried out at the plant in Arese, Italy.
Alfa Romeo GTV 916Alfa Romeo GTV (Gran Turismo Veloce) got its name in memory of sports modification Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV, released in 1975. The presentation of the sports coupe took place at the 1994 Geneva Motor Show.
Enrico Fumia that was developing the car's design was inspired by the 164 Proteo prototype.
Alfa Romeo GTV cars had an elongated body with a raised back. A large hood with typical for the manufacturer sports cars V-shaped stamping, a small corporate grille shield and four accurate round headlights gave the model an aggressive look. A distinctive feature of the car was a nonstandard solution for back lights groupping - direction indicators, rear lights, fog, brake and side lights were a single continuous strip.
Alfa Romeo GTV cabin even in the basic version was trimmed in leather. Sports stiff front seats had lateral support, steering wheel was height and reach adjustable. The driver and passenger seats were divided by an armrest with a small luggage compartment. The front of the coupe was very spacious, which cannot be said of the cabin rear, although there were full seats with head rests installed.
Alfa Romeo GTV 916 RestylingThe first restyling, dated 1998, has brought a lot of updates to the model. The quality of materials for interior trim has advanced, instrument panel design has changed, as well as the air intakes, a new center console appeared. Among the external changes there should be noted chrome edging of grille shield and body-colored sills and lower part of the bumpers. Theluggage compartment volume also slightly increased.
In 2003, the front end of Alfa Romeo GTV was redone in the style of Alfa Romeo 147: triangular grille got enlarged and moved down and the license plate was placed on the right. Interior changes were minor: the instruments received red illumination, and the tachometer scale was extended to 280 km/h.
In 2005, with Alfa Romeo Brera model entering the market, Alfa Romeo GTV production was discontinued.
