Mercedes-Benzs C class produced from 1993 till today. Initially they were created only at two plants 鈥� Sindelfingen and Bremen, Germany, but later production capacities of concern were extended to India, South Africa, China, the USA and Malaysia.

Mercedes-Benz C class was developed on the basis of Mercedes-Benz B class. Creation of a prototype began in 1986, but was suspended before official patenting of all its features in 1993. The car was released in bodies of a five-door station wagon and a sedan.

Features of design of an exterior remained the same, as with the predecessor: short and high trunk, big headlights and metal radiator grille. The car was available in four packages: Classic, Esprit, Sport and Elegance.

During the first restyling of the second generation in 1995 cars got white direction indicators, the improved materials of an upholstery of passenger compartment and minor changes in design of the dashboard.

In 1997 there was the second restyling of the model when the list of additional options was extended with chrome plated fringing of the radiator grille and protective pads for both bumpers.

The updated model was presented in 2000. The coupe was added to the range of bodies. The concern used a direct fuel injection system in all types of engines that allowed to increase the power, but keep the average level of fuel consumption.

In 2004 restyling of the second generation took place. The car had the improved bearings thanks so the comfort when passing turns increased. Also designers equipped a car with the advanced stabilizer of a rear axle. The list of options had bixenon headlights, 16-inch rims, illumination of devices and the chrome plated inserts.

The third generation of Mercedes-Benz C class was presented at the Geneva auto show in 2007. The updated model had the extended wheel base and the increased pads of wheel arches, more streamline body and the changed shape of bumpers.

The exterior of the car had elements of design of the Mercedes-Benz S class W221 and Mercedes-Benz CLS Class C219. The car was released in the following packages: Classic, Sport and BlueEfficiency.

In 2011 there was a restyling of cars of the third generation during which the nose of the car was changed: the radiator grille was enlarged, the shape of headlights and a bumper was changed.

In 2014 Daimler AG Company presented the fourth generation of the model at the motor show in Detroit. It was the first car constructed on the Modular Rear Architecture (MRA) platform.

Basic elements of a body were made of an aluminum alloy that allowed to reduce the weight of the vehicle by 100 kg. The car was available in two bodies: sedan and station wagon.

At the North American automobile show in 2015 hybrid modification of the model was presented. In electric mode this car can run 31 km.
