Dacia LoganDacia Logan model has been produced since 2004 till present. Cars are assembled in Romania, Morocco, Turkey, Brazil, Colombia, Russia. Assembling of the first generation of the model was also organized in Iran, India and South Africa.
Thanks to a stylish design and an excellent combination of the price and quality, the car quickly won a world popularity. In 2005 the model of the first generation was awarded a prestigious "Car of Year" rank within the European competition AutoBest. The car of the second generation received the award of "Best Compact" awarded by the Brazilian community of automobile journalists of Abioto.
Dacia Logan I generationThe Dacia Logan model was designed at cooperation with the French company Renault which managed Dacia S.A. Company since 1999 . The car of the first generation was constructed on the Dacia B0 platform. Originally only sedans were produced. The model was focused on the markets of developing countries. So, a qualitative suspension and high road clearance became the features of these cars. In June, 2005, cars also began to be sold in Western Europe.
In Romania, four modifications of the car were sold: Ambiance, Preference, Laureate and Ambition. All cars were completed with a driver airbag and central lock. Bumpers were painted in the colour of a body. Head fog lights, light-alloy disks, front electric window regulators, a power steering, the electric drive of mirrors, head restraints of seats of a back row, the on-board computer, the air conditioner and the CD player were also included in the luxury Ambition modification. Anti-lock brake system (ABS) and two frontal airbags ensured a security.
The premiere of Dacia Logan MCV station wagon took place at the Paris Motor Show. Cars in this body were five-seater or seven-seater. Depending on the configuration of seats, the trunk volume varied from 200 to 2350 liters. The length of wheelbase of a station wagon was larger than the indicator of the sedan by 275 mm. Side airbags were included in the basic package of station wagons.
The van was presented in 2007,January 23, in Bucharest, and on the 10th of September the same year the pickup was presented to motorists.
Dacia Logan I generation restylingsIn 2006 the first restyling of Dacia Logan of the first generation took place. Cars had the improved design of an exterior, and rear optics in the form of crystals, a spoiler, a new shape of mirrors became the distinctive features of the model. Among advantages of the restyled interior it was possible to note a better quality of an interior upholstery, a leather steering wheel, a new transmission lever, a white background for dials of the dashboard.
On July the 1st, 2008, the restyled Dacia New Logan model was produced. As a result of the second restyling, the car received more modern design of an exterior. Changes affected an interior also: the ergonomics of interior was improved.
Dacia Logan II generationIn 2012 at the Paris Motor Show the premiere of the Dacia Logan model of the second generation took place. The front part of a body and design of a car were adopted from the Dacia Sandero model of the second generation. Sedans were still produced. In 2013 at the Geneva Motor Show the station wagon was presented. The list of options was enlarged with the modern multimedia navigation system with the seven-inch touch-sensetive screen, cruise control system, the rear parking assistant system. The anti-lock brake system (ABS) and electronic stability programm (ESP) were included in a basic modification of the model. There was an Eco button on the dashboard limiting engine turns to 4000 rpm.
Dacia Logan in the markets of the different countriesIn Iran, Dacias Logan of the first generation were called Renault Tondar 90, in Mexico 鈥� Nissan Aprio. In April, 2007, sales started in India where cars were called Mahindra Verito. In the countries of Latin America, and also in Russia cars carried the name Renault Logan. In Russia, minivans were known under the name of Lada Largus. Pickups in some markets were called Nissan NP200. Cars of the second generation are also known as Renault Symbol and Renault Logan.
