Ford FusionFord Fusion was produced from 2002 to 2012 at the plant in Cologne, Germany. The car was created on the basis of Ford Fiesta. In ten years of production only one generation and one restyling of Ford Fusion was released.
Ford Fusion I generationFor the first time this car was presented as a concept car of Ford Fusion Concept at the motor show in Frankfurt in 2001. It met the requirements of young married couples with children who were looking for the universal and original car. Potential buyers liked Ford Fusion, and in March, 2002 at the Geneva motor show the official presentation of a stock car took place. Some experts consider this model the foundress of a new car class鈥� UAV.
Ford Fusion borrowed road performance from a hatchback, and from the ORV it got larger wheels and the increased clearance. The model had a high body and capacious compartment and these were minivans鈥� features. The car was released in a body of a five-door hatchback in three complete sets. The on-board computer with the display, fog lights, airbags, the ABS system, power windows and mirrors, the central lock and many other things were offered as additional options.
The design of the car turned out very aggressive because of wide mouldings and large bumpers.
Ford Fusion cars quite often got the top lines of prestigious ratings. The models were equipped with the standard immobilizer that entered in top-10 the safest car security systems. And in the rating of German technical monitoring service, TUV, Ford Fusion took the third place among cars with three years' running. Also this model took the second place after Ford Focus by the number of sales among all Ford cars.
Ford Fusion I generation restylingRestyling of Ford Fusion was carried out in 2005. Changes affected the shape of front and rear bumpers, mouldings and the dashboard. The list of available inventory was extended.
