Mazda 121
Production of Mazda 121 was carried out during the period from 1987 to 2003. Throughout the years of production, three generations of the model were presented.
Mazda 121 DA
The first generation of Mazda 121 went on sale on the European market in 1987. The model was developed together with the Ford enterprise. The car stood out in compactness, cost efficiency and reasonable price. The car was produced in a three-door hatchback body.
Rear seat in Mazda 121 could slide both forward and back. Designers set the rear seat on a rail mechanism. It allowed to move the back row of seats between the passenger compartment and the baggage compartment on 200 mm.
For an additional fare, Mazda 121 cars were equipped with the hydraulic power steering and anti-lock brake system (ABS). Also some cars were equipped with a fabric rooftop.
Mazda 121 DB
Production of the second generation of Mazda 121 began in 1991. The car was developed by the company independently and was assembled in a sedan body. Unlike model of the first generation, all corners of Mazda 121 DB body were smoothed.
Mazda 121 cars in a basic package were equipped with the central lock and power windows. As extra options, the air conditioner and a folding roof made of cloth were offered.
Mazda 121 JASM/JBSM
In 1996 production of the third generation of Mazda 121 on the Ford B platform was arranged. The Japanese company once again was engaged in the development of the car together with the German enterprise. The car was produced in a three-door hatchback of Mazda 121 JBSM and a five-door hatchback of Mazda 121 JASM bodies only.

At the beginning of 2000, Mazda 121 JASM/JBSM cars had new front optics, and changed front and rear bumper.

The first generation of Mazda 121 was on sale in some countries under the name of Ford Festiva. Mazda 121 cars of the second generation outside Europe were known as Autozam Revue.
