Info on MITSUBISHI TREDIA model - the right selection of spare parts
Mitsubishi Tredia
Mitsubishi Tredia was produced in 1982-1990 at Nagoya plant in Okazaki, Japan, and also in New Zealand.
Mitsubishi Tredia I generation
Mitsubishi Tredia cars were released in a sedan body. Along with Mitsubishi Cordia and Mitsubishi Starion models, the Mitsubishi Tredia was one of the first models exported to the USA and sold there without cooperation with Chrysler Corporation company.
The car has classical design of the exterior where straight lines are evident. The model had a black plastic bumper, mouldings, rectangular headlights, expressive wheel arches. On the hood there is a stamped unit traditional for brand cars. Design of Mitsubishi Tredia exterior is similar to the Mitsubishi Mirage model of the second generation. Many units were borrowed from the Mitsubishi Cordia model.
In the USA, cars were offered not only in a standard body that was 4 280 mm long, but also in an extended one whose length was 4 380 mm.
In New Zealand cars were released by The Todd Corporation Ltd company, and later, by Mitsubishi New Zealand. Cars were released together with the Mitsubishi Cordia model. When designing this car, 40% of the parts and materials were produced locally, such as glass, rugs, interior trimming materials, radiators and electrical units. Others parts and units were imported from Japan.
Mitsubishi Tredia I generation restyling
In 1983 there was a restyling of the car of the first generation. Minor changes affected design of the exterior. One year later the four-wheel drive system was offered as an option. In 1985 production of modifications with turbocharged engines began. Same year in New Zealand cars with an enhanced package appeared. The list of basic options included power windows and an audio system with four loudspeakers.
