Opel Astra
Release of this middle class car started in 1991 and is carried out till nowadays. Five generations of Opel Astra were presented. New cars aspired to the "The European car of year 2016" status: Opel Astra K entered the seven of finalists. Besides, the car presented in 2015 in Frankfurt, managed to win ranks of "SafetyBest 2015" and "A gold wheel of 2015" already. Assembling of Opel Astra is organized in Germany, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Belgium, England, Italy, Hungary and in other countries.
Model F
The first generation of these cars was produced from 1991 to 1994. The model debuted in 1991 at the motor show in Frankfurt. It was one of the largest projects of the Opel Company - about 8000 engineers and designers worked on this project. Efforts of developers were shortly rewarded: in 1992 Opel Astra received the second place at the "European Car of Year" competition.
Opel Astra of the first generation was available in a three-door and five-door hatchback, a station wagon, a van, a sedan and a cabriolet bodies.
The interior of these cars differed in simplicity, practicality and functionality. The qualitative materials of inner trimming, the central console turned towards the driver, comfortable seats with lateral support 鈥� all this features provided the sufficient level of comfort.
Model F restyling
After restyling of 1994, the car received the transparent directions indicators, new radiator grille, rounded door handles, the updated steering wheel, new colours of upholstery materials.
Model G
The second generation of Opel Astra debuted in 1997 in Frankfurt. A year later, production of stock cars began. Actually, the car was designed anew 鈥� it did not get any important unit from Opel Astra F. The design, the front part especially, was improved. In the inner trimming better materials were used. The line of bodies was left without changes. In 2009 Opel Astra G were taken out of production.
Model H
The debut of the car of the third generation took place in September, 2003, at the motor show in Frankfurt. The model came to the stock production one year later and was released till 2011. The design differed in more precipitant lines and the optics borrowed from Opel Signum. Opel Astra H was the first car of this class equipped with adaptive lighting system.
Model H restyling
In 2007 models of the third generation underwent restyling. Minor changes concerned an interior and an exterior. Sedan was removed from production. Release of these cars is carried out nowadays.
Model J
The fourth generation of Opel Astra debuted in 2009 in Frankfurt. The car received the updated design. Instead of quadrangular headlights, the LED optics of the irregular shape was used. Dynamic lines of the roof, sharp edges of the hood and an angular rear window鈥� all this features made design of the car sportier.
Model J restyling
In 2012 there was an addition in the range of bodies because of restyling: the sedan was added to the station wagons and hatchbacks. Bumpers and radiator grille were updated.
Model K
In 2015 the official premiere of the fifth generation of Opel Astra took place. The car became light and more compact, but the space in the passenger compartment was increased. The list of options was considerably extended.
