Peugeot 407Peugeot 407 vehicles were being produced from 2004 up to 2011 in such a body version as a sedan, station boy and a coupe. For that time the company contrived to represent one generation and one restyling of the car. The manufacture of the vehicle was established in France, at the factory in Rennes.
Peugeot 407 I generationThe Peugeot 407 Elixir鈥檚 concept was represented in 2003. The next year a sedan made its debut during the International Geneva Motor Show, that later became a part of a series production line. The same year the station wagon鈥檚 production was started. A Peugeot 407 coupe debuted at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in 2005.
Vehicles were distinguished by a high visibility level that was provided due to a practical windshield inclination angle. A windshield was being carefully cleaned by means of the wiper鈥檚 wing system. Vehicle itself had a stylish exterior. The embossed stamp on the front hood, large elongated headlamps clusters, a radiator grill of a rounded shape and moldings on side doors, all those features set a new design concept of the mark.
Peugeot 407 had a very comfortable passenger compartment. A climate-control system kept an optimum temperature, demonstrated a defogging function when it rained, automatically turned the air cleanup on. An ergonomic driver鈥檚 seat could be adjusted different ways. All buttons were comfortably placed so a driver could easily reach them while driving.
Peugeot 407 vehicles were equipped with an active safety system called the Electronic Stability Program, consisting of: a dynamic stability control system CDS, an emergency braking system AFU, an anti-skidding system ASR, an anti-block system ABS.
Designers created a body with a reinforced frame which had a deformation zone able to assimilate the impact energy if the collision has taken place. Nine safety airbags were included into to a passive car safety system. Almost all packages had an automatic light turning-on function applicable at evening time. Due to a 芦follow me home禄 system, after an ignition being switched off, the outer light was working for some time.
In 2008 the production of Peugeot 407 fist generation vehicles was ceased.
Peugeot 407 I generation restylingIn 2008 the restyling of the first generation鈥檚 cars was held. Engineers painted moldings and a bumper using the same color as a body had. After front panels being chromed, a radiator grille looked more distinctive. New rear lights with a transparent section substituted previous ones. The station wagon鈥檚 exterior wasn鈥檛 changed much, except for optics, into which diodes were mounted.
The chromed bezel was used to adorn handles which adjust a climate control, navigation and music files systems. Wipers and headlights鈥� process control was simplified: it was enough just to move a lever to the right direction. In addition a front parking sensor was installed, which significantly streamlined a process of driving such a long car.
In 2011, the Peugeot 407 was replaced by a Peugeot 508 model.
