SEAT 131 model was being manufactured in 1975-1984. There were three generations of the model in the market. Cars were marketed in Spain.

SEAT 131 I generation

The premiere of the first generation of SEAT 131 took place at the Barcelona Motor Show in 1975. The model was the licensed copy of Fiat 131, but Spanish cars had different engines. The public highly appreciated the high-quality, reliable and stylish car.

SEAT 131 II generation

The second generation of SEAT 131 was being manufactured from 1978 to 1981. The design of cars of the second generation was updated slightly. Head lights of all modifications (except SEAT 131 Diesel Super) had a rectangular shape. Bumpers, radiator grill and side moldings began to be painted in black colour. The design of wheel disks was changed. The second-generation SEAT 131 cars had the updated dashboard and a one-spoke steering wheel. Rear seats were equipped with head restraints and the central armrest. The quality of inner trimming materials was improved.

SEAT 131 III generation

The premiere of the third generation of the model took place in 1981. The design of cars was updated slightly. The main changes concerned a design of bumpers, a radiator grille, head and rear lights. Some modifications had wide plastic moldings in the bottom part of a body. In an interior, the two-spoke steering wheel appeared. The dashboard had new colours. Models of the third generation were equipped with power windows, the central lock and the air conditioner.

SEAT 131 in the markets of the different countries

SEAT 131 model has numerous twins. These are the Tofa艧 Murat 131 and Fiat 131 P cars, manufactured also under the license in Turkey and Poland. In the USA SEAT 131 is known as Fiat Brava.
