Production of the SEAT Terra vans was arranged in 1986-1995. In total, there was one generation of the model in the market. Cars were released at the plant in Spain.

The debut of the SEAT Terra cars took place in 1986. The model was constructed on the basis of SEAT Marbella hatchback and was a successor of the commercial SEAT Trans car. From the predecessor the car adopted the main technical characteristics and design. There were new options of an inner trimming, and cars had others seats, more comfortable, than SEAT Trans had.

In the exterior of SEAT Terra straight lines and angular forms prevailed. The model had wedge-shaped cross-section of the hood, rectangular headlights with orange direction indicators. Bumpers were made of plastic and were painted in black colour. On both sides of the body at the level of thresholds there were wide plastic mouldings. The trunk lid was settled down above the driver's cab. Simplicity and a practicality were the main characteristics of the interior of the model. Devices had a rectangular shape. There was a special shelf in the bottom of the dashboard for storage of small objects. Seats were equipped with head restraints. The cargo compartment was separated from the driver's cab by a special protective grille.

In 1988 on the basis of SEAT Terra several SEAT Terra pilot models in a pickup body style were designed in cooperation with the Kamei company. The model was presented at several motor shows, but inspite of planning the stock production the same year, this idea failed.

In 1995 production of the SEAT Terra vans was stopped. In total, 166 601 copies of these cars were released. In a model range of the SEAT company, SEAT Terra car were replaced by the commercial SEAT Inca cars.
