Volkswagen Multivan
Volkswagen Multivan are minibuses produced from 1985 till nowadays. Throughout these years, three generations of cars and one restyling were presented. Assembling of cars is organized in Hanover (Germany), Poznan (Poland) and Kaluga (Russia). The first generations are also assembled in South Africa.
Volkswagen Multivan 1985-2003
Production of Volkswagen Multivan T3 cars of the first generation continued from 1985 to 1994. The minibus was positioned as a multi-purpose family car and was constructed on the basis of the Volkswagen Transporter model. Straight lines of the body became characteristic of the exterior of the model of the first generation. The main advantage of the car was the comfortable seven-seater passenger compartment.
From 1994 to 2003, manufacture of the second generation of Volkswagen Multivan T4 minibuses continued. Length of the body of the new car was 4 789 mm, width 鈥� 1 840 mm, and height 鈥� 1 920 mm. The car differed from the predecessor in the updated design of the exterior. The windshield slant angle was increased, the front bumper was changed. The car had new headlights. Changes also affected the hardware of the minibus.
Volkswagen Multivan T5
New intentions of designers were realized in the third generation of the Volkswagen Multivan model. Production of cars continued from 2003 to 2005. Four-door and five-door minibuses were released.
From predecessors the model of new generation was distinguished by more smoothed lines of the body and big windows. Feature of the car is the laconic optics. Wide doorways provide ease of boarding. In comparison with the previous generation, the car body was increased in sizes. Length of the four-door minibus was 4 890 mm, width 鈥� 1 904 mm, and height 鈥� 1 970 mm. Such dimensions were positively reflected in spaciousness of the car. Seven-seater passenger compartment was spacious and ergonomic. Both driver's and passenger seats have the broad range of adjustments. Basic equipment includes modern systems of active safety.
Volkswagen Multivan T5 restyling
In 2010 there was a restyling of the Volkswagen Multivan model of the third generation. The minibus has the right side sliding door, tinted glasses, mouldings and light-alloy 18-inch discs. Door handles are painted in body colour. As additional options, fog lights and the sensor of light are offered.
In a basic Startline package seats are covered by Cheyenne fabric, and the steering wheel and gear lever is covered with leather. The two-place seat can be transformed into a comfortable bed. The shelf extender of the bed is an additional option. The little table is included in the standard equipment.
All Volkswagen Multivan T5 cars after restyling are completed with the power steering, rear window cleaner and washer, electric adjustable exterior mirrors with heating, central lock with remote control, and also air conditioner.
Modern systems of active safety, airbags, pretensioners of safety belts and Isofix child seat fastening are included in the basic equipment.
