The production of Isuzu D-Max pickup trucks started in 2002 and continues to date. Since then, two generations of the car along with two restylings were presented. In 2016, a restyling of the second generation of Isuzu D-Max pickup trucks has been conducted. The main changes were enacted on the front part of the car. Sharper, more angular lines have appeared in the car鈥檚 exterior. The massive radiator grille and large slanted headlights added aggression to the design of the car鈥檚 exterior. The fog lights niches were decorated with chrome inlays. The upgrades also touched the passenger compartment - a new multimedia system with an 8-inch touch display and a dashboard with a color TFT screen.

The Isuzu D-Max line-up has sister cars. These are the Chevrolet LUV D-Max, Holden Rodeo, Isuzu Rodeo Denver and Isuzu KB.
