In 1982, after another restyling being performed, Peugeot 104 cars received new front and rear lights, as well as the radiator enclosure design was renewed. The manufacturer changed a major part of chrome plated elements to plastic ones.

In 1988, the production of the model was completed. More than 1.6 million of Peugeot 104 cars of all modifications have been rolled off the production line.
