Info on PEUGEOT 304 model - the right selection of spare parts
Peugeot 304The manufacture of Peugeot 304 cars began in 1969 and had lasted till 1980. During that time 1 178 425 models were produced in a series line. Vehicles were assembled at the plants in Sochaux and Mulhouse, France.
Peugeot 304 I generationIn March of 1969, Peugeot 304 I generation vehicles sedan started to be sold. Those cars were created on the base of a popular Peugeot 204 model. A coupe, a cabriolet, a van and a station wagon appeared one year later. Considering the technical equipment of a station wagon, it did not differ from to the other body types of Peugeot 304, but its interior was improved and high qualitative materials for a cabin trim were used.
In April of 1972, sportive versions of Peugeot 304 Cabriolet S and Peugeot 304 Coupe S were introduced. Newly designed cars differed from the other cars of the same model owing to high ability ratings. Peculiarities of the exterior were limited by implementing a black radiator enclosure and 20-inches wheel discs.
The release of I generation cars lasted till 1973.
Peugeot 304 I generation restylingIn 1973 the first generation vehicle restyling took place. As a result, the interior was selectively renovated: indicators of the instrument panel became of a rounded shape, a taсhometer substituted the clock. The exterior of upgraded vehicles got a lesser resemblance in design if being compared to the Peugeot 204 model. The Peugeot 304 Berline S release also began.
The second restyling held place in 1975. The sedan turned to be an owner of the entirely white headlamps cluster, a renewed radiator grille and a central arm support between the seats of a rear row. Coupe and convertible versions had been gone out of a production line. The line of engines was upgraded two years later.
A low level of corrosion protection and non-compliance to new ecological standards made the car unpopular. Therefore, the third restyling of 1978 was aimed to make a car much more favourable to the public. However, neither the chrome grille nor improved suspension could increase the popularity of the model. And already in 1980, the release of the Peugeot 304 car was completely stopped.
