Peugeot 4008 has been produced since 2012 up to the present. This crossover is the result of the collaboration between the Peugeot Company and Mitsubishi Motors. The car鈥檚 trade has been launched in Japan.

The Peugeot HR1 concept 4008 was presented in 2010 in Paris. Its debut was timed to the 200th anniversary of the French company. The car was showed at Geneva motor show in March of 2012 and its sales started during the next month of the same year.

Peugeot 4008 cars have been designed on the Mitsubishi GS platform. All Peugeot 4008 cars are equipped with a Start-Stop system, which controls the fuel consumption and the volume of CO2 emitting in the atmosphere. The difference between Peugeot 4008 and its predecessor is a four-wheel drive Multi-Select 4WD system.

The presentable exterior of the crossover was complemented by LED lights framing the main headlights, original fog lights and a wide grille.

High-quality and soft-touch materials are mainly used in an interior trim. Three modifications are available on the market: with fabric, leather and combined upholstery. All Peugeot 4008 cars have large and comfortable seats. A spacious cabin allows passengers of back seats to feel comfortable. The most expensive package is equipped with electric seats and seat heating.

A special feature of the interior is a carefully thought-through personal belongings storage system. The glove box has lights and a map holder and in the door pockets 1.5 liters bottels can be placed. The front and rear armrests have two cup holders, and there are two mesh pockets on the backs of the front seats.

The Peugeot 4008 list of options includes: trunk and roof rails, skis and bicycles transporting fastenings, a variety of door sills鈥� linings and floor mats of different materials.

All cars are equipped with active safety systems: an anti-lock brake system (ABS), a brake force a distribution (EBD), a help system when driving on slopes (HSA) and an exchange rate stability (ESP) system. The passive safety system consists of three-point seat belts, Isofix fastenings for child seats, an airbag with a deactivation function for passengers, a special protection against opening of rear doors by children.

In Japan, the Peugeot 4008 is known as the Mitsubishi ASX, in Canada 鈥� as Mitsubishi RVR and in the United States 鈥� as Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. In Europe, the twin car of Peugeot 4008 is the Citroen C4 AirCross.
