Peugeot 607The production of Peugeot 607 cars has been launched in 1999 in France and lasted until 2009. Due to the high level of comfort, reliability and economy, as well as the attractive price, the Peugeot 607 model has become very popular among taxi drivers in Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. In May 2007 Nicolas Sarkozy, during his inauguration as the French President, rode a custom-built Peugeot 607 Paladine.
Peugeot 607 I generationThe debut of the Peugeot 607 took place in 1999 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The design of the car was developed by the Peugeot department under the leadership of G茅rard Walter and was the epitome of originality and elegance.The flowing lines of the body, sloping roof, teardrop-shaped headlights, the original form of the tail lights, divided by the trunk lid - it was all steeped in the Peugeot corporate style, but had a personal touch. The passenger鈥檚 compartment was noted for its rational space organization.
Manufacturers have equipped the new model with all sorts of active and passive safety systems. The basic package of the car sported ABS, ASR and ESP, six airbags, front and rear seat belts with tensioners, rain sensor and tire pressure monitoring. There have also been available such options as an emergency braking assistance system, central locking, a trip computer, dual-zone climate control and a host of other options. The vehicle was produced in a sedan body version.
In 2000, at the Geneva Motor Show, with a mind to attract attention to the new car, Peugeot has presented two bright and luxurious concept cars at the same time - Peugeot 607 Feline and Peugeot 607 Paladine. The first was built in a roadster body and had a glass cockpit-like cover, the rear part of which could be hidden in the trunk, while the front could move forward, making it easier for passengers to embark/disembark. The doors also had a sliding construction and hid in the front fenders when open. The passenger compartment was located almost over the rear wheels car. The second concept - Peugeot 607 Paladine - was presented in a rare landaule body.
Peugeot 607 I generation restylingAt the 2004 Paris Motor Show a restyling of the Peugeot 607 was shown. The main changes concerned the car鈥檚 exterior design: the radiator grille has been updated and large air intakes were integrated into the bumpers. Inside, there are new indicators and an updated dashboard. The interior began to use better materials - aluminum and wood. The list of available options was expanded with new technological solutions.
