The production of Peugeot RCZ ran from year 2010 to 2015. Production was set up on the Magna Steyr plant in Grantz, Austria. A stylish design and a superb line-up of technical characteristics brought this car worldwide renown and a few prestigious international awards. In particular, RCZ became a holder of the 鈥淏est Sports Car鈥� title awarded by a british Diesel Car Magazine five times in a row. In 2010, a British magazine Top Gear awarded the car with the 鈥�2010 Coupe of the Year鈥� award.

Peugeot 308 RCZ debuted, as a concept, in 2007 during the Frankfurt Motor Show. In the same spot, in 2009, this model was announced as a serial production car. Worldwide sales started in the first half of 2010.

The RCZ lineup was manufactured in a coupe body. The model had a modern sports design, accentuated by the body鈥檚 smooth lines, wide false radiator grille, chromium inlays and aluminum door sill protectors. But the most original piece of the exterior was the curved rear windshield, which followed the lines of the roof. Outer lighting was provided by LED daylight navigation lights, modern xenone headlights and a headlight intensity corrector.

Due to the particularities of the body construction and an active rear spoiler, Peugeot RCZ had an exceptional aerodynamic resistance coefficient of 0.32.

The design of RCZ鈥檚 interior hearkened to racing cars. The developers used expensive fabrics for the passenger compartment, with leather interior and seats upholstery as an option.

Comfort was provided by a noise-blocking windshield, electrically-regulated rear view mirrors and a rain sensor. The extended package included a headlight washer system. All cars came with 2-zone climate control and seat heating.

Extreme attention was given to safety when designing the RCZ Peugeot model. A basic package included front and sides airbags, an anti-lock braking system (ABS), a stability control system (ESP), and an anti-slip regulation system (ASR), front and rear parking sensors and cruise-control with a speed limiter.

Though the car had a very compact appearance, the model had a very spacious baggage compartment of 309 liters. Peugeot RCZ could handle loads of up to 463 kg.

Peugeot RCZ was restyled in 2013. Changes affected the design of the front bumper and the technical side of the car鈥檚 equipment. As such, the false radiator grille became smaller, and the front optics - narrower. The renewal also brought two new body colors to the lineup - Erythree Red and Guaranja Brown. The basic package now included an Arkamys acoustic system.
