Fiat 130 sedan was presented in 1969 at the motor show in Geneva. In this car the alternating current generator was replaced by the direct current generator for the first time. The car did not enjoy popularity, therefore designers decided to release only one generation of Fiat 130.

In eight years more than 15 500 Fiat 130 sedans were released. However, the car was repeatedly critisized by many reputable printing media. The presentation of Fiat 130 in a coupe body took place in 1971 at the motor show in Geneva. Paolo Martin, one of Pininfarina designers, was engaged in designing the car exterior. Spectacular style of the car, round dials on the dashboard and ergonomic sports seats caught fancy of motorists. The inner trim of a passenger compartment stood out for its high-quality design. Till 1977 about 4 500 copies of the coupe were sold.

In the same 1971 a single copy of the special five-door Fiat 130 Familiare station wagon was produced as a personal transport for the main shareholder of the Fiat company Giovanni Agnelli. Among the features of this car exterior design it is possible to note railings and a woven basket on the roof, and stylish wooden panels decorating side parts of the body. Style Centre Fiat was engaged in the design of the exclusive vehicle.

In 1974 the Pininfarina studio created Fiat 130 Opera in a sedan body and Fiat 130 Maremma in the body of a three-door station wagon. The cars were manufactured in one and three copies respectively. All the cars were designed in Shooting Brake style.
