This middle class car was produced by the French Citro毛n company from 1982 to 1994. In total, one generation of the model and one restyling were presented. Production of Citro毛n BX cars was organized in France. 2.3 million copies were sold for all that time.

Citro毛n BX cars debuted in 1982 in Paris. The design of the body was developed by the known Italian Bertone studio. Despite angularity, the car had quite good aerodynamics that was promoted by the door handles drowned in a body in many respects. Weight of the car was reduced due to the plastic panels.

In 1985 a limited series of sports modification - Citro毛n BX Sport - was released. It differed from other cars in more powerful principal specifications.

In 1986 restyling of Citro毛n BX took place. Producers updated the dashboard, the preference was given to traditional configuration of devices. Minor changes concerned an exterior: bumpers and headlights were updated, and lines of the body became more rounded. Orange direction indicators were replaced by white ones. In 1994 the production of the model was terminated.
