Info on ISUZU IMPULSE model - the right selection of spare parts
Isuzu ImpulseIsuzu Impulse are sports cars that were sold between 1983 and 1992. The model was aimed at the North American market. The assembly of these cars has been organized in Japan. Isuzu Impulse were manufactured in a three-door hatchback body.
Isuzu Impulse Ist generationThe first Isuzu Impulse car has been released to the market in 1983. In essence, the car was an exact copy of the Isuzu Piazza, but was marketed for the USA. The exterior design was inherited from the Isuzu Asso di Fiori concept car, developer by the famous Italian designer Giorgetto Guigiaro. The concept was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1979, and was so well-received that the decision to proceed with series production has been taken in the next 48 hours.
The design of the hatchbacks was no less vivid and recognizable. A dynamic silhouette, narrow retractable headlights and a slanted bumper made sure the exterior looked unusual and stylish. The shallow incline of the windshield and door handles placed in recesses in the body contributed to the superior aerodynamic qualities of the car.
Isuzu Impulse cars had a spacious and comfortable passenger compartment. Straight lines were predominant in the design of the dashboard. Rear seats had an adjustable back-rest. The basic package of the car included an air conditioning system. A digital dashboard was available in expensive packages.
In 1988, the design of the car was slightly updated. Regular headlights replaced the retractable ones, while keeping the shape and size of the latter. The first generation was in production until 1990.
Isuzu Impulse IInd generationThe second generation of Isuzu Impulse was released in 1990. The design of the car was significantly changed. The lines of the body became more fluid, and the overall size of the car changed. The headlights became round. Narrow tail lights were installed, partly, on the car’s wings. Bumpers and mirror casings were dyed to match the body. Textured plastic was used in the decor of the dashboard. Seats were equipped with headrests and offered superior lateral support.
Regardless of the eye-catching design, decent technical characteristics, and reliability, the second generation of Isuzu Impulse cars did not enjoy any noticeable level of popularity, and in 1992 the production of the model has been ended.
Isuzu Impulse on various marketsIsuzu Impulse are also known under different names. In Canada, these cars were sold as Asüna Sunfire, and Holden Piazza in Australia.
